FINAL PHOTO CRITIQUE

Final Photo Critique

REFLECTION

I've learned a lot in this course. I was able to take away many new lessons from this course, from the different types of photography used to all sorts of cameras and equipment needed in order to capture those mesmerizing moments. After taking this course, I see my surroundings as an opportunity to capture a picture. Even if it's something as simple as someone sitting down or a simple landscape, everything around us is unique and can tell a story within just an image. I see myself as an individual who has more opportunities and experiences to learn as I've learned about photography. Technology still plays a big role in my life, especially with school, and now, photography. After reflecting upon many videos and articles of social media, I have become more aware of the benefits and harm it can put upon myself. As a person and photographer, this course has definitely made a huge impact on me. I was able to learn and accomplish many new challenges given my way.

FAVORITE SHOTS

"Morning Rise"
Again, another one of my first shots as a
beginner. I think I did really good overall with
this image especially with the lighting
and the fact that I was able to get the camera
to focus on the leaves showing it's just as
beautiful as the sunrise.
"WWII Site"
One of my first shots for this class. I think it was a
pretty decent shot seeing as I was still beginning
severely within this course. It happened to
be one of my favorites because of the way I captured
it.

"Just Another Day"
One of my favorite portrait photos with a friend
of mine. I really liked this outcome because the
background turned out to be more decent than I
thought it would be. It was my first shot with
a nice plain background and I think it worked out
pretty well.
"Seaside View"
One of my most favorite shots with my really
cool uncle. Cool fact, he was a photographer for
awhile so he'd usually help me with tips. This is
one of my favorites because it's such a simple
image but it looks like it holds a powerful
story. The background wasn't too overdone so
overall, I really liked the outcome.

"Scene of Green"
A traditional landscape photo. I was able to
capture a scene filled with such bright green
trees, leaves, and grass which made me
happy because I really admired the out-
come. Even though it was such a simple
image, I did try to take the image at a
certain angle hoping that it would look
more pleasing to the eye. Overall, I
admire this simple image.
"Clouds of Candy"
Personally, I love taking pictures with a shallow depth
of field so this was a simple deep depth of field photo.
I don't know if I would've preferred this photo to
have a different outcome because I, for one, really
admire the color scheme of cotton candy this picture has
hence the title, Clouds of Candy. I thought the sky looked
gorgeous so I knew it was a good opportunity to take
a shot.

"Lights, Camera...Phone?"
This is a candid image of my cousin
and I really admire this shot. I was able
to make her the main subject of the picture
without making the background too overdone.

"Orange Reflect"
Sunsets are such a beautiful thing
to experience. I was able to
capture a shot where the sun reflected
upon the water and even the sand due to
water on it. In my opinion, the
simple blur in the background made
the image look a bit more appealing
but it did make me seem to focus on
the rocks and sand more.

"Easy Hit"
I admire this shot because I took it while my
cousins were doing something without noticing
the shot being taken. I really admire the back-
ground because you could depict the scene that
was going on and that the image was trying to tell.
I was also able to focus it on the main subject.

"Early Reading"
I have never taken a silhouette such as this one.
I also wanted to try something other than a beach
silhouette and I think this shot turned out great. I
recently found out that light hitting against the
window or curtain can be of big help when
trying out silhouette photos. I do wish I have
tried another creative shot where the subject
wasn't just reading but overall, I think it was
a pretty good image.

Throughout this course, I've learned new lessons and have accomplished new skills. I went from being a complete beginner to still being a beginner but with a bit of knowledge. I would say that all the photos I have taken were all pretty decent enough for it to be considered good photography. All in all, I had a blast taking this course and hope to learn further more.
